Factice is vulcanized vegetable oil namely caster oil and rapeseed oil. This is used as a processing aid in rubber industries as it makes the mix easier to process. Normally 5 to 20 phr of factice is added in most of the formulation, and if required as much as 40-50 phr can be used if required. |
|
| |
Factice being a non inert filler when added during mastication to the natural/ synthetic rubber it easily mixes with the compound & becomes a homogeneous mix with the rubber, thus making it non extractable & giving the desirable properties to the compound and reducing volume cost. |
